General
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Fair Lawn, NJ and primarily serve clients across northern and central New Jersey, NYC's five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, and parts of southern Connecticut. For larger projects we travel further on request.
Do you work with small businesses or just enterprise?
Both. Our smallest active client has 5 employees; our largest is a multi-site organization with several hundred. We scale our engagement to fit, and we'll tell you honestly if we're not the right fit for your size or budget.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We carry $2M general liability, professional liability (E&O), and full workers comp on all field staff. We're also licensed in New Jersey for low-voltage telecommunications and burglar alarm work. Certificate of insurance available on request.
Quotes & Pricing
How do I get a quote?
Use our
quote request form or call us. For most installation work we'll schedule an on-site walkthrough first, then deliver a detailed line-item proposal within 48 hours.
Do you charge for site surveys?
Initial site surveys for projects we're quoting are free. Comprehensive technical audits or design work performed independently of a project quote are billed at our standard engineering rate.
Are your prices negotiable?
Our quotes are based on actual labor and equipment cost plus a fair margin. We're happy to discuss scope reductions, phasing, or alternative equipment to hit a target budget — but we won't cut corners on workmanship to win the job.
Do you accept competitive bids / RFPs?
Yes. We respond to formal RFPs and informal three-bid scenarios for projects we're well-suited to. Send your scope to
info@keynetworkus.com.
Installations
How long does a typical install take?
Depends entirely on scope. A 16-camera system in a single-story building might take 2-3 days. A full 280-drop office buildout might take 3-4 weeks of field work. Our quote always includes a project timeline.
Can you work nights or weekends to avoid disruption?
Yes. Most cutovers and replacements that affect production systems are scheduled after hours. We charge a modest after-hours premium that is always disclosed up front.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
For low-voltage work, we pull required permits and coordinate inspections in jurisdictions that require them. For projects involving electrical work, we coordinate with a licensed electrician.
What warranty do you offer?
All workmanship is warranted for 3 years. Equipment is warranted per manufacturer terms (typically 1-5 years depending on product). We help process warranty claims on equipment we sold you.
Ongoing Support
Do you offer managed IT services?
Yes. Our managed-services contracts include 24/7 monitoring, helpdesk, patching, backup oversight, and quarterly business reviews. Available as fully-managed (we are your IT team) or co-managed (we work alongside your internal team).
Can you take over support of equipment installed by someone else?
Usually, yes. We start with a documentation pass and a security review of what's there, then quote ongoing support. Sometimes we recommend specific replacements first — we'll tell you why.
What's your response time for emergencies?
For managed-service clients with active outages: live engineer on the phone within 30 minutes, on-site within 4 hours when on-site is needed. SLA terms documented in your service agreement.
Brands & Equipment
Are you tied to specific brands?
No. We're vendor-neutral. We have certifications across major networking, surveillance, and security brands and we recommend based on your specific needs and budget — not on what we make the most margin on.
Can I supply my own equipment?
Yes, though we'll usually quote both options. Equipment we source comes with our extended warranty and dedicated RMA support; client-supplied gear comes with manufacturer warranty only.
